Dearest brother of my heart.

Gardener and guardian.

Friend of friends.

I pass down to you

our tale spun out,

in song and story,

your wish fulfilled,

in celebration of

those we love.

These extra leaves I place

where only by chance

you shall find them.

You said

never would I forget

the darkness

if I spoke of it.

But I must speak.

Part of my heart

hopes you never find this.

Part wishes you shall

and so understand

what drove me away.

I know not which part is the wiser.
